2024 Generation Summer Internship - Exira Station

Responsibilities

Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) is seeking a student in an Engineering program or trade school, and interested in power generation for a full-time summer internship in our Exira Station generating facility located near Brayton, IA.  The position begins in mid-May and goes through mid-August. 

In this position you will be working on a variety of projects at the Exira Station, a 140 MW simple cycle three-unit aeroderivative turbine generator peaking plant owned by MRES.  The short-term responsibilities of this position will involve hands on work with spare part inventory, data entry, supporting work planning, purchasing inventory, and asset management documentation.

Working conditions will include office and field work which could include light lifting, infrequent climbing, and occasional exposure to temperature and noise.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications:    

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry.
• Completed and have high school diploma and reaching the age of 18, and plans or has started higher education; college or vocational-technical training.
