Responsibilities
Establishes and strengthens relationships between Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) and its Members and serves as Members’ primary point of contact for MRES programs and services by performing the following duties.
Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensures Members are informed, supported and engaged in programs that enhance Members’ value, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce peak demand when beneficial.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with Members, and acts as a liaison between members and MRES internal departments, ensuring timely communication and coordination of programs and services.
- Assists members in developing and implementing strategies for serving key accounts to promote positive relationships and loyalty by understanding member needs, goals, and challenges.
- Promotes, implements, and educates members, their customers and trade allies on energy efficiency, demand management and beneficial electrification programs and other energy services through on-site meetings, public events and presentations.
- Cross promotes and educates members and their customers on the full complement of MRES program offerings in an approach tailored to each member community’s unique needs and organizational readiness, to include but not limited to rate studies, strategic planning, grid and systems modernization, transmission studies, cyber assessments, community sponsorship, grant opportunities, and beyond.
- Understand member objectives and obstacles and guide them on available programming to achieve their aspirations.
- Provides timely information to interested members and routes them to MRES’ internal experts. Ensures a warm hand-off and checks in with members as program interest develops. Checks in with members at key milestones of new program engagement and assesses progress.
- Educates members and customers on Bright Energy Choices green pricing program and helps members understand their MRES resource mix charts.

9. Identify opportunities to expand member engagement, including events, sponsorships, and additional services.
10. Develops and maintains key relationships with community partners to support successful program delivery and Member initiatives.
11. Develops, coordinates and leads special projects and initiatives related to member services and programs; collaborates with internal program leads to provide member perspective as the “voice of the member/customer”.
12. Analyzes program performance and member feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and recommends enhancements to programs and services to maximize member value and MRES impact.
13. Utilizes systems and tools to track Member interactions, program participation and project outcomes, maintains accurate and complete records Assists Members with reporting for state and federal agencies, to include but not limited to reports on energy efficiency and demand reduction.
14. Practices and adheres to industry and customer safety requirements.
15. Represents MRES on industry, development, and project committees, task forces, and conferences, as assigned.
16. Keeps abreast of relevant professional, industry, and inter-utility developments.
17. Travel up to 60% of the work schedule with occasional overnight stays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, engineering or related field, and four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Contact Management systems. Proficiency in customer databases preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
